We are looking for an experienced residential property solicitor to join our property team in Edinburgh.

Thorntons has one of the largest residential property teams in Scotland. Our teams are experts in local markets and we pride ourselves on providing professional and personalized service to clients throughout every transaction. There are real opportunities for career progression in this role and you will be fully supported by our team through mentoring and professional training programs. Our hybrid working approach allows for a mix of working from home and in the office.


You will manage all aspects of a busy residential real estate file, managing your own transaction portfolio, developing strong client relationships and networking with other business professionals. This is a key appointment for our Edinburgh property team and offers long-term prospects for the right person – an ideal role for an ambitious solicitor or partner looking to take the next step in a big business Support.


You’ll be an experienced residential property lawyer, confident in handling a busy caseload, and enjoy working in a team. Ideal candidates will have experience in all aspects of residential real estate, including dealing with businesses and individuals, acquiring properties for small developments and selling developed land. Experience in the buy-to-let market and dealing with clients building portfolios and refinancing existing portfolios would be an advantage. Ideal candidates will be ambitious and commercially aware, with key strengths in building and maintaining strong client relationships and supervising and developing more junior staff members.
