DI KHAN, July 1 (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – July 1, 2022):: Deputy Commissioner Inayatullah Wasim chaired a District Land Use Management Committee (DLUMC) meeting on Friday to discuss the illegal conversion agricultural land in commercial ownership.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Nadir Shahzad, Mayor Dera, Umar Amin Gandapur, Irrigation Executive Engineer, Aqeel Azhar, city officials and concerned officials.

The meeting discussed measures to stop the conversion of farmland into commercial properties in light of the guidelines issued by the provincial government.

It was decided that DLUMC approval should be mandatory to stop the transfer of agricultural land for commercial purposes.

It was said that these measures were necessary to discourage elements involved in the conversion of agricultural land for commercial purposes. It has been observed that landowners build houses on their farmland and then sell the property declaring it commercial.

The TMAs have also been tasked with taking action against illegal housing corporations and settlements.
